Alignment Before Assignment
A supported development process
It complements — never replaces — your ministry’s worship, teaching, and pastoral care.
- 1Begin with a willing existing group, such as the choir, Bible study, or another ministry team.
- 2Listen to participants and let each person select one priority.
- 3Define one realistic 90-day goal, a starting point, and repeatable weekly actions.
- 4Match relevant education, encouragement, accountability, and community resources to expressed needs.
- 5Use a manageable rhythm: a 30–45 minute weekly group, a brief partner check-in, and a 20 minute leadership preview when feasible.
- 6Review progress and adjust support; distinguish reported feelings, behavior, completed tasks, and measured outcomes.
- 7Develop emerging facilitators through observing, assisting, practicing, and receiving feedback.
- 8Share accurate stories with separate permission and invite others into useful experiences.

Educate → Engage → Enroll → Empower
Each stage is a real, voluntary decision. Learning about the approach does not commit anyone to the next step, and enrollment happens only after schedule, cost, and resources are disclosed.
Four legitimate recommendations
Gather more input
When evidence or participant voice is limited.
Strengthen an existing practice
When a focused improvement is sufficient.
Explore a small 90-day pilot
When a relevant need, willing group, sponsor, and plausible delivery capacity are identified.
Continue and document what works
When practices are strong; optionally develop additional facilitators.
Nate Scott’s personal examples and the choir story illustrate a model; they are not guaranteed results for other ministries. “Explore a pilot” is a conversation recommendation, never automatic enrollment or formal church approval.
